The Gardens
The Grande Allee

The Grand Allee, a beautiful walkway lined with trees and situated on a hill, provides a panoramic view of Crosby Lake and the Perennial Garden area. There are two paths that run east to west the length of the allee, each bordered by silver linden trees (Tilia tomentosa ‘Sterling’). Between the paths is a lawn featuring a wooden gazebo, which is a popular site for many weddings held at Toledo Botanical Garden. On the west side of the allee is the raised circle bed. Each spring, this bed is planted with a variety of annuals providing color and texture throughout the season. Crescent shaped plantings of crabapples and dawn redwoods frame the area around the circle bed. Beyond is the evergreen grove, a display of different coniferous trees. Visitors to the Grand Allee are encouraged to use the Garden's Bancroft Street entrance, as it provides closer access.
